Music To Jack's Ears!

We are still in renovation mode. May it be all over soon, very soon! The workers are painting and we can see progress. Jack returned from helping family and was pleased with the progress. Actually, I did well being in charge while Jack was gone. I handled the decisions as they came up. I did go a little stir-crazy being housebound as the workers continued. However, stepping back once he returned has found me over his knee more than once. He says the bossiness is just too much.

Last night's over-the-knee spanking in the dark was a complete surprise. I thought once over had taken care of things, but no!  Usually, I know well when I have stepped out of the role I wear so well. HA! Maybe I had been pressing my luck.

I was slipping my robe off after my shower and in the door walked Jack. As the renovation goes on, we are in the guest room. The bed is lower than our high bed in the master suite. He commented about the height difference and then sat on the bed. Over his knee, I went and the spanking began. I loved it. It was a hard spanking with lots of talking, rubbing and more talking.

So this morning, I made our favorite breakfast and lighted the breakfast table candles. Jack commented on how pretty it looked and how the aroma was heavenly. I said, "yes, dear". He laughed. I said that it seems like I am saying "yes, dear" a lot these days. He spoke right up telling me that he really liked that.

When things are humming right along, it is a "yes, dear" world. He told me before I left for my walk that he did have peace in his valley. He did say that the best way to demonstrate my leaning in is to say "yes, dear".  Real music to his ears!

Is "yes, dear" something you say?

Meredith

  2. I've never said, "yes dear" to Eric. I'll try it. When we first dated, he mentioned something about me saying "yes Sir" to him and I laughed. NO WAY. Well, he found a way and it is the rare occasion that it comes out. I like "yes dear". Gonna give it a go.

  3. You two are so sweet! Hubby would probably think I was being a smarty pants if I said that, but I might just give it a try!

  4. I guess I'm kinda with Mignon, Nick would just think I was being sarcastic. There are time when he choses to really get my attention that I say 'Yes, sir!'

  6. It’s not something I usually say but hearing that it’s working so well on your end makes it worth trying here. Glad to hear that things are rolling along smoothly. I love the idea of breakfast candles, that’s so sweet to do!

  8. Hi Meredith,

This made me smile :) Glad you are making good progress on the renovations. Congratulations on handling things well while Jack was away. It is hard stepping back again though.

Rick does like hearing those words too. Always said in a playful way. He usually kisses me and says "good" lol.

  9. I'm with Mignon and PK here with the yes dear, Bear would think I was being cheeky. What a lovely way to have breakfast by candlelight, never thought of that one.

  10. Made me smile. Candlelight breakfast, lovely. If I said yes dear, P would think I was being cheeky and would probably be OTK. I do say Yes Sir.

  11. I have been known to say ‘yes dear!’ Sometimes it is in a conciliatory way.... other times it may be much more of a cheeky response! One way may get a spanky reaction!

  12. I can tell how happy you are to have your Jack back home. Maybe it is not the words verbatim that sound so good to him. Maybe it is your eyes and how you look at him. There is such a difference in the way we deliver the words we speak. The eyes say a lot all by themselves.

At least for now, you deserve the "Submissive Wife of the Week" award, Mere. Good on you, my friend.

  15. Go Meredith! Sounds like you are on your best behavior during (what could be) a stressful time. I think my "yes dear" is said with sarcasm but in the nice kind of way. He takes no offense.

  16. I have been known to say "Yes, dear" on occasion probably in more of cutesy endearing I love you sort of way. :-) glad there is peace in your valley.

  17. Hi Meredith, :) Good for you for responding so positively to your fella!

No "yes, Dear" here. That would be in the "attitude adjustment" category, or just something fun. I usually say, "Yes, my Sir," respectfully, in those situations.

Hope that your reno is going smoothly! Many hugs,

    <3 Katie

    1. Katie,
No "Yes, Sir" here as he had his fill of that during his work life. I measure when I can use it though.
