Our Favorite Christmas Movie

Christmas movies seem to be everywhere. However, Jack and I always turn to our favorite. We own a copy of the movie and a copy of the soundtrack. We love this movie and its main theme that love is all around especially at Christmas. This movie always makes me cry, laugh and yes, cry again! The music stirs my heart. When a dear friend asked me to name my favorite parts of this movie, I couldn't do it. I told her I love it all. It is real and sincere and the music is wonderful. She agreed as she could not choose just one part over another either. Although Hugh Grant dancing at 10 Downing Street sure rocks.

So as we near Christmas, tell us your favorite Christmas movie?

Meredith

  2. We also love this movie, it warms my heart and it’s one we watch every year. Another favourite is The Family Man. I love the glimpse of what could be. It’s another really nice holiday movie that moves me.

  3. I'm sticking with the classics - It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street.

  4. A Christmas Story or maybe A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott as Scrooge. I'm not sure I've ever watched the one you are suggesting. May need to give it a try.

  5. Hi Merry, It is White Christmas for me, all that singing and dancing, Holiday Inn is another. I have already had an afternoon snuggled up with the tree lights sparkling watching White Christmas yet again....

  6. Oh, this is such a challenge, Mere. I have a stack of favorites that I watch all through December. It will be hard to pick just one.

There is an obscure film that was made for television in 1966. It was called "A Christmas Memory" and was taken from an autobiographical short story by Truman Capote. He did the narration for the film.

It was unsuccessfully remade in the late 90s, but the original film is so worth watching. It heralds the more quiet wonder of Christmas for me.

  7. Our family has a tradition of watching Christmas vacation and the boys can repeat it word for word. I'm over it though, so should start a new tradition.

  9. Love Actually is one of my favourites, not just for Christmas. It has such a feel good atmosphere. I’m always sorry for Sarah, having to choose her brother over Karl, though. The Holiday is my second favourite Christmas movie. I have them both on DVD.
