My Own Little World

Six more weeks of winter says it all. We woke to ice pellets hitting the bedroom window and I groaned and snuggled right into Jack. We had our coffee and watched winter unfold ..... light snow, freezing cold temps for our neck of the woods, and rehashed our sun break now only a memory.

My plan is to get many things accomplished whilst watching the sky change from bleak to partly sunny to gloomy. I am not a fan of winter. Where is spring?

How do you keep winter at bay? What tactics do you use to keep smiling?

My sweet Jack is sure to give me my important gg spankings that result in the sweetest of sleeps and some pretty wild dreams too. I'll take it.

Meredith

Postscript...............

The sun is out, the sky is blue and we are off to have fun.

  1. Where we live there are many, many sunny days even in the winter. Have enjoyed a few trips to Phoenix and Las Vegas, as well. My gas fireplace is my favorite thing about winter nights.

But the biggest thing of all is that I became obsessed with quality lighting in our house. Look into balanced spectrum lighting. In every room we have remodeled we started with an electrician and increased lighting. We also have something called SolaTube skylights. Not at all like the old dirty leaky skylights of old. These catch and refract natural light and can actually be bright enough to read by.

Wishing You a Sunny Day, Mere.

  2. Hi Meredith, don't laugh but every morning I get up, open the curtains, and turn to hubby and say it's snowing! One of these days it will be true, sigh. Not a single flake, just endless fog. I know you are fed up with it but I am the teeniest bit jealous, just saying...
Hope you are a bit warmer today
    love Jan, xx

  3. We, too, unfortunately deal with many gloomy, cold, dreary and snowy days in our neck of the woods. When we are off we simply take advantage of snuggling in a bit in the morning sharing good loving times, and then of course spending time in front of our cozy fireplace sipping hot chocolate or tea and count down the days until we take our boat out of storage and can plan on enjoying days at the lake having some fun in the sun!! Enjoy what bit of blue skies and sunshine you have for today and here's wishing you a fun filled day.

  4. We've been lucky we haven't had a lot of snow and/or ice this year, Mere. Have had some bitterly cold days on end. Wish I could find somewhere that had two seasons...spring and fall. Not too cold...not too hot. :)

  5. I just heard that we've only had a few inches under a normal snowfall for the winter. I feel like it's been so very mild. I want a proper winter!
It's so nice to snuggle watching the snow outside!
Glad you take advantage of any weather to cuddle!

  6. Ugh, don't remind me Meredith, that means only 6 weeks of summer left here, though there hasn't actually been much of a summer!

  7. Here in AZ the grey days are actually welcome. We have so few of them, I enjoy the change. Of course, we don't have to worry about snow or ice - at least not so far. lol

  8. When the clocks go back in October I want to retreat into my cave and stay there until spring. As that's not possible, my favourite thing is to snuggle up with Harry in front of the fire with a nice warm drink (alcohol optional), watching films.
There are snowdrops in my garden and the shoots of crocuses and daffodils are peeping through the soil. Spring is round the corner!
