The Car Door........... Part One And A Half

I made a big giant jump in telling my car door story. We are home and Jack is still deciding what his next step will be.  There is a part of the story which I do not share and must do so to help you understand here.

We live in a sweet little "carriage" house so named by our builder. This house has all the things a grand house has, except smaller and less in size. This small house seems just right for empty nesters. Our garage is the envy of the neighborhood as we can get both cars easily in. However, Jack's car is a big one. No problem getting it in, but the right side passengers must exit the car before the car enters the garage. No room for opening doors completely.

In my mind, you all know that because it seems like you all have been right here. I must exit the car before the car enters the garage. Then Jack drives into the space. It is no big deal. He would gladly help me from the car and then drive it in, but that seems silly. So I hop out. That is where the problem is. Hopping out and closing the door.

I will keep you all posted. We are still talking which is a good thing. Right?

Let's not rush Part 2. Thinking is good and Cat, I have shown him your comment.

  2. I know you both are 100% looking out for each other.... so it's my guess that you probably trust Jack will fairly analyze this issue with your input. That being said, I think there will be a spanking to resolve this.... it just may not be as intense.

  3. I just wanted to say I agree with the others in that Jack should close your door, then I saw this update... okay, then it doesn't make sense for him to get out and then back in. Maybe you should drive his car from now on, lol.

Did you only show him Cat's comment or the others as well? I am interested Jacks opinion on them and in the conclusion of this, but I'm not looking forward to read about a spanking here, because I don't think it is justified if you do try to get it right.

  4. hi Meredith, well this is taking my mind off my dramas! Mind you I still am not sure this is a spankworthy event, it's only a car, hee hee.

  5. Meredith, I agree with what Minelle says and hope the outcome will be a lesser spanking than the 'fanny blistering' promised originally. The best result would be no spanking at all, of course, but it's usually needed to clear the air and restore peace and harmony, as we well know.

  6. Well, I missed Part One and hurried to catch up just now. I am not surprised that your Jack has one of those QUIRKS I wrote about not long ago. And men feel differently about their vehicles than women - at least the couples I know.

Might be... that there is some sort of phallic connection there. I am not sure. Sam has had a vintage Corvette, Mustang, and MG, and god forbid anyone disrespected those cars. I had a bad habit of throwing grocery sacks on the hood. Luckily for me that was before ttwd.

What I cannot fathom is how this came up on some sunny holiday !? Mere, however this happened, this is definitely a time to really suck up. That's Ella's advice anyhow. QUIRKS don't really make sense.

Humble is the key word here. No snappy answers. Just grovel.

  9. Meredith, keep Jack talking forever to avoid a spanking of this kind. Can't see how its a spankable issue, golly gosh.

Sending you positive vibes to receive a GG rather than a punishment.

  10. LOL Mere...at least your tush is not on the line for my smart a$$ remarks. :)

Okay...so my thoughts that the door closing sounds louder if you're still in the car with the other door shut is correct. So my suggestion would be that you lightly click the door enough that it stays shut while he pulls into the garage and then he can lean over, open and reshut the door from the inside. Problem solved! See how brilliant I am! :P

    Hugs and blessings...Cat

  11. I just have to laugh here reading everyone's response. I try to imagine what Jack would be thinking about all of our "smart"responses. Anyway.. glad your home, I would have to presume with all of the talking going on that some kind of clarification and understanding will occur and perhaps just a gg or welcome back home spanking will occur. Either way.. your man loves you and will make his feelings crystal clear.

    1. I agree, I'd also be interested in Jack's POV.

  12. I, silly me, assumed Jack was talking about closing the door when you were the driver, not the passenger. I totally agree with the others, he should get out of the car and open and close your door. Then it wouldn't be an issue.

  13. Hi Meredith, :) I keep going back to the fact that closing the door is such a subjective thing, unless you are giving it a slam, which you are not! So I am still in the "no spanking necessary" camp, if you have been a 3GA about it all...

Jack should have a read here. May help your bottom! :)

I'm with Ella- groveling sounds good! How does that country song go... "Always be humble and kind..."
I hope things work out just fine. Maybe you can jump him next time he starts to tell you about it... once he is in park! MFL might take it off his mind! ;) I'm out of ideas! Many hugs,

    <3 Katie
