Tax Time And My Backside!

Christmas is still down the road. You must be kidding! Our accountant has sent her tax packet and wants us to sign her agreement so we are all ready for my very least favorite time of year: winter, darkness, cold,  and now, before the New Year even begins........... tax time!

For as long as we have been married, even since beginning ttwd, I have been the financial planner in our family. I loved keeping the books, paying the bills and putting money into savings and investments. So when tax time came around, I was the person collecting all the documentation required.

Regardless of what year it is, I still get agitated when this tax time starts up again. Jack and I sat together talking about what our accountant was asking. I just plain got sassy. I stated that Christmas hasn't even happened and here we are thinking about taxes. Grrr! I made a couple of other choice statements with a raised voice and did a few too many sighs and eye rolls. Jack told me to button it up. Let's just say that the peace in his valley was beginning to erode and quickly.

Finally, my sweet guy had had enough of my complaining, sighing, and such. He came to me with that hairbrush, my hairbrush and we made our way to the bedroom. I always find it amazing how I can be fully clothed one minute, and completely bare the next. How does that happen?

Over I went and not too quietly. Something about the unfairness of it all, and very, very soon, I was yelping and not complaining. All too quickly, I quieted down and the hairbrush stopped its work. Up into his arms! He is quietly talking now as I am rubbing vigorously. We would sign the agreement and leave all the tax stuff until January. I was told that I just needed to calm down about all of it. Did I understand? Oh, yes, I understood very well.

We went on to have some mighty fine loving, after all, when your wife is bare and freshly spanked, it seems the most natural thing in the whole world, if the wife just stops rubbing her bottom. Don't tell our accountant or "the tax man".

  1. I seem to remember you getting spanked over the tax stuff before. Glad it was followed by some MFL this time round.

  2. I completely understand your dislike of tax time, I truly hate it, but this little story of yours did give me a good chuckle, sorry. I have procrastinated doing my part in all of it before and have landed in the same hot water you just did. I'm glad you both have a plan going forward. Enjoy the holidays first and then get down to business!

  6. Oh I hate tax I'm and I don't even have to do the work. It's just the principle of the whole thing that gets me all stirred up and causing disharmony here. I do have to say though, it's not nice to have to think about it during Christmas season. I mean one thing at a time right? Well sounds like Jack restored peace there whether you agreed or not. At least some fun loving was had to soften things up a bit.

  10. I am with you. Tax time makes me crazy and it would make me crazier if I had to think about it now. Sounds like it started off as a problem but sure ended in a lovely way.

  12. Hi Meredith, :) Taxes and the hairbrush! UGH! The MFL! Worth it! LOL!

We just got our agreement as well. I signed the thing, and off it will go. Now on with the shopping! But you ended up with the MFL and a spanking! I'll have to work on that one (minus the hairbrush- OUCH)! JK! ;)

Don't give taxes another thought, my friend! "Tis the season to be jolly!" Many hugs,

  13. Has been busy here, but I wanted to take time this morning to visit. Glad I did. This was a funny one, Mere, and I really did need a laugh.

"In your world nothing is certain but Spanking and Taxes." I think Benjamin Franklin said that.
