Honoring Our Veterans And One In Particular

Each year I thank our veterans. They are the men and women who said yes to serving our country. They do brave and dangerous work daily. Thank you, veterans, for all you do.

There are lots of ways to say thank you to our veterans. Attending a ceremony at nearby cemeteries is so patriotic. Thanking a veteran for his/her service shows gratefulness. Flying the American flag on this patriotic day is inspiring.

I say a special thank you to my own special veteran, Jack. His branch of service was a part of our lives even before we married. He was deployed many times and he did dangerous things in far away places while serving our country. Every year, I get a little tongue-tied finding a way to honor his service. He tells me that I honor his service by supporting him in every way.  I kept those home fires burning during each deployment and his homecoming was always, oh, so sweet.

  1. Thank you for your service, Jack! I also thank my parents for theirs and my grandfather and a few of my cousins and my nephew who is in boot camp right now. We owe all of our veterans, all the brave men and women a debt of gratitude we'll never be able to repay.

    1. Of course I realize my nephew isn't a veteran, but I still am proud of him and thankful that he is willing to serve. ;)

  11. It is so very important to remember those that sacrificed for us. This one day is far from enough to honour all the men and women who have and continue to serve. We are truly grateful for your service and that of so many others. Thank you both isn't nearly enough but know that it is truly heartfelt.
