Not In Our Home ~~~~~ No, Thank You!

One of my favorite things to do online is to explore interior design sites. Remodelosta is one of the best. Lots of great photos and articles to satisfy me........... all except for this article and set of photos I found recently. The article was about using wooden spoons as art. Are you kidding me? No, thank you.

Wooden spoons displayed right there in the bedroom. No way!

If I could live my life over, I would change nothing. I was not an interior designer. I choose a different career and loved my choice. I do like my surroundings to reflect a calmness. Before there was the Internet, I collected "house" books to pour over and study. I liked the calm, uncluttered ones best. There was a calmness to them I liked. Our home is uncluttered and streamlined. However, we do not decorate with wooden spoons and we never will. Ever!

  1. This made me laugh! We are look into ways of discretely living our life/style without actually hiding (does that make any sense!?). I kind of like this idea =\ I think.....

I am such a simple, non-material person, and we are finally really working to make our home the same. I need calm. I crave calm. Would wooden spoons all over give me calm? Hhmmmm...

    XOXO Pearl.

  6. I've always had lots of wooden spoons displayed on the walls of my kitchen. It's a Polish thing. We all do it.

What does that say for us?! LOL!

  8. Hi Mere, I think I'd love to have lots of beautiful wooden spoons as part of the kitchen decoration. I mean the kind that are too good to be used for anything, though. Great pictures, especially the first one.

  11. LOL Mere...A line of wooden spoons hanging in the bedroom as decor? That's one way to keep weapons of m'ass destruction close at hand. I prefer mine in the jar in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing the fun pics. ;)

  13. LOL Meredith. I think out of sight out of mind is the best way. Don't need to encourage the use of wooden spoons in any of our houses.

  14. I'm with you, Mere. For the same reason I wouldn't paint a room red.

  15. The designer must have been a man and/or at least an HOH!!
We have many spoons in our house but all are discreetly tucked away, no spoon art for us!

  16. I do have an antique metal spoon and spatula on the wall in my kitchen. I have never given them a thought before. Don't think Sam has ever thought of them before, but I will let you know if I ever see him show any interest.

  18. Yikes. Wooden spoons hurt! Except if they are heart shaped and used gently!
I don't thing hanging on the wall is a good idea.

  19. I had another thought. They'd be OK on the wall if they were PERMANENTLY stuck there with earthquake and nuclear strike safe super glue. Yeah, that'd work for me. ;)

  20. Yep! I would do some quick page turning or website clicking right past the whole wooden spoon decor! NoNO!!!

We don't really use those around here anyway. Bruise leavers on this b-u-t-t!!! I can hear you thinking... cheeseboard decor... Hahaha! Many hugs,
