Happy Second Year Blog Anniversary

Where did the time go?

Two years ago today, this blog was born. I nervously pushed the bright orange "publish" button and began to tell our story. At the time, I was on the verge of depression and Jack wondered just what to do with me. I was floundering after we had made the decision to retire early. I was a little lost and wondered if this was all there was. We had retirement all planned money-wise, places to go and things to do, but I was not real happy. Jack was at a loss to know what to do. He sensed my unhappiness. He could see my unhappiness. I remember asking him if this was all there was after a lifetime of wanting more and working hard to get to this point.

Then I discovered the blogs and devoured all of it. Working like a graduate student preparing for a big exam, I made my presentation. I asked Jack to begin ttwd with me and he said yes.

Our marriage changed immediately. We experienced the rekindling of intimacy in amazing ways. Our sex life came roaring back and our home became a peaceful place. Jack led and liked leading. I tried on submission for the first time in our long marriage. Sometimes things were smooth and sometimes things were dicey. Yes, there were spankings and things got complicated and then simple. I learned to really follow what my husband wanted and to really listen to him. Mistakes were made, my bottom was often on fire and we made our way to smoother times. The transformation of our marriage is really amazing and we are both happy, touching and loving.

So what are the best parts to share? For Jack and me, our home is peaceful; I like the way he takes the lead and calms me; the intimacy is real, but so are the spankings. The best part for me concerning the blog are the friends I have made. The friends who write behind the blog are the best. They like the privacy and the honesty we share in our exchanges. I have a wonderful assistant who is faithful in helping find the perfect photos. Faithful readers make great comments and then many decide to make the jump to email me. To date, I have met bloggers. I hope to meet a few special readers too.  Behind the blog leads to many adventures.

In honor of the blog's birthday, please tell us your favorite post if you have one. I would love to hear which post you really liked and why.

I continue to be the happiest I have ever been and so is my Jack.

Thanks, L.

  1. Mere,,wonderful post,,,thank you for your nice comment. I like the post which was written by Jack,,it would be nice to hear from more husbands. I know what the ladies think but not the men.

  2. Hi Meredith, congratulations one two years!!! That's a big milestone in blogland, heh! I love this post - your experience sounds so familiar to ours. Especially the peace in the house thing. Definitely the same here after we started ttwd. I really like the post where you meet Jack's belt. :)

  3. Congratulations on your 2nd year! And a heartfelt thank you for being so much more behind the blog - you helped me gather my wings to fly in this DD world. I love all your posts but Jack's belt still sticks out to me!

  4. Congratulations on 2 years of blogging. I have enjoyed following your journey. I enjoy all your posts and it would be hard to pick just one.

  5. Hi Meredith, congratulations on your second bloggiversary! That's awesome! I love what you write about the positive changes that happened due to DD, and 'to really listen to him' is something that strikes a chord in me because I learned that with the help of a roasted bottom too. ... And love it. I can only agree to all the points you meantion, as they are something that we have experienced here too. You have some posts where you see the difference before and after and I think one is even called Then and Now, so these stick out for me.

  6. Meredith you are an inspiration. Congratulations on two years in blog land! The behind the scenes chats are the best. Favorite post "Leaning Into Jack" it is so heartfelt and truly captures the beauty of your experience. There are other favorites, but that one lingers. Thanks for being a friend.

  7. Congratulations to you Meredith. My 2nd Anniversary won't be until December 19th of this year. I really love your blog and get excited every time my blogroll tells me you have a new post. I hope you want to continue your blogging for years to come.

  8. Sorry, forgot to leave favorite posts.

It's a tie. Katie and Meredith Meet, because you can truly feel the genuine appreciation for the things in life that make us happy. Very sweet. The other is "Look What My Assistant Found" .. I just love all of the quotes and sayings about the kind of love we are lucky enough to share with the Dominants in our lives.

  9. Congratulations on 2 years! At this point, I can't even imagine that. All of your posts are fantastic and very helpful! There is no way I could pick just one!

  10. Happy 2nd Bloggiversary to you, Meredith! :) I've enjoyed reading here very much- and I think it is especially because our men and our dynamics are so very similar. That is a really cool thing! And of course getting to know you, as well as meet up has been a wonderful thing!

My favourites- well... that is a tough one. I think it is the one "Just like at Katie's House" from last December. The one where we talked about listening to our fellas better, and all. That is a hard thing to do. I just got a spanking for not doing that, again the other day. I will write about it when I have a chance to breathe. But I thought it was a good post to think about and continue to work on. And of course I LOVED your post on when we met! So sweet as I see that sub hub in phx enjoyed that one too. Thanks sub brother! ;)

Many congrats on the milestone, Meredith! And three cheers for Leah who keeps you in mighty fine pics too. Many hugs,

    <3 Katie

  11. So happy to have had you around for these two years. Blogging gets in your blood!

  12. Wow! 2 years! I so clearly remember your first post and how exciting it was for you to start your own blog. So many of your posts have made me laugh - I love all of Jack's sayings especially. :)
The ones that really stick with me are the tender ones - like the one about the candle, our meeting, and how your marriage has grown and changed. You've been such an encouragement to me and I love you so much.
    Happy Blogiversary!

  13. Congratulations on your two year Blogiversary. Here's to many more.

  14. Congratulations on your 2nd Blogiversary Meredith! This is such a lovely post and a wonderful reflection on how far you and Jack have come and the wonderful benefits of ttwd.

  15. A wonderful celebration post. You have so many reasons to feel proud. Your relationship with Jack is number one. But please remember all the people you have inspired with your writing.

My favorite posts were some from near the start. My absolute first choice was one you titled I Keep Forgetting the Three Parts. "Talk is the beginning and the aftercare is the end. What happens in the middle is the spanking." I also liked the one Jack wrote on "Spanking Meredith."

You are a special lady. Thanks, Mere.
    Your friend,

  16. Hi Meredith, congratulations on this anniversary, may you have many more happy years ahead!
    love Jan,xx

  17. Happy blogoversary!!
A favorite hmmmm.... Not sure. I loved the one with Jack, but I also enjoyed the last one.

  18. Happy Anniversay Meredith!
I am so grateful that you have continued to blog because if you had stopped somewhere along the line I may never have found you.
Your posts are interesting, thoughtful and inspiring, I have loved so many of them. Two of my favourites are 'The Perfect Place to Practice Submission' and 'My Officer & Gentleman', both are beautiful.
Thank you Meredith for being so generous sharing your journey with me. XO

  19. Quickly stopping by to say congratulations... :-)

  20. Happy Blog Anniversary, Meredith and Jack! It's really hard to pick one favorite, though I'd have to say it's the one about Jack's favorite place to talk to you...his chair...followed closely by the one when you first met Cali.
I think what I have really liked best about following you is watching this very real story of your relationship these past 2 years unfold, reading about the transformation in your lives. I'm always inspired to listen better and speak more kindly.
God bless you both! And many more happy years of blogging!

  21. Meredith,
I'm so glad you started this blog. It helped me so much when we first started ttwd! Thank you so much!

  22. Congratulations. A real milestone. 😄🍰🎈🎂

  23. Happy Blog Anniversary! Terrible two's - we better watch out. I've enjoyed your blog and have enjoyed getting to know you!

  24. Happy blogiversary Mere! So happy you decided to start blogging...hope you continue for many years to come.

    Hugs and blessings...Cat
